Default in a modem all are selected.
In WAN page mod may be AUTO.
Depending on line conditions modem selects adsl gdmt etc.
You remove the "right" mark from the mod list.
Test your speed at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test say mumbai server now.
Repeat the tests after every change you make in the modem or computer.
Since you have NOT changed anything and the connection is stable , your problem is solved ! Make a note of present settings of the modem.
What changes you made to modem settings ?You are on "always On Mode" meaning as soon as you start the system /modem you get connected to internet. That is why you could get your password.See in the WAN page above and select time IDLE time as 0and "always ON""Bridged" means you have to use a dialer program to connect, where you enter your user ID and PW to connect to Internet. ( Changes to be made in modem )If you change the mod settings some improvement possible.Else go to BSNL Telephone exchange and get the modem replaced .Confirm NOBODY is using a phone in your house.
does incoming calls have any effect ??coz now the connection is pretty stable...i dont know wht the hell is happeneing .. its stable for last 1 hr or so..
