Remove USB connection.Connect the Ethernet cable.Restart the computer.Wait for a minute, try google.co.in in IE.If connection is not established, go to New connection Wizard, and make the connection manually.It has to work now, if the problem is not there on BSNL's side.If you have removed certain components from Windows disk using nLite or something, this wont work.
 
would be pleased if you tell me how to get those stats.

in your internet browser, open http://192.168.1.1
default user name should be admin and password also admin.
you will see the router page.
from the tabs above, click on status. in the bottom you will see snr margin, line attenuation, data rate. post that information here. for reference look at the first pic in essbebe's post.
