Excitel Broadband Reviews

I am using excitel broadband for the past 3 months and it has been a solid Internet experience after using 512kbps airtel . Speed is similar to what it claims and it is reliable. I am on 10mbps/800 per month truly unlimited plan. The only downside is it goes down for a few minutes sometimes and for that I am using my backup airtel connection.

I have a doubt regarding the Excitel connection. In the wifi router box, apart from the power cable of the wifi router, the engineer has attached one more power cable which is connected to the LAN cable behind the router. He has instructed me not to turn off that second power switch.

Can anybody explain what purpose does it serve?

I am using Excitel........ performance is very good... uptime, speed, ping....

I use my own router...... the only things that come to my house is the LAN cable...... if that is your doubt....

lan cable means i can share stuff with a friend in my own sector locally? does it allow others to access my computers like it was on a local network? would it mean that i would need to turn on firewall on all machines in the house?

no problems with facebook...

yeah. it was giving problems for around 20 minutes. got fine after that.

Been with Excitel for a month now and so far so good
few down times time to time but with this speed everything is accepted

yup. my second day was hell when the net was down for 12-16 hours. i guess they were just setting up the backend as the service was just a few days old. since then i have had minor downtimes lasting 10 seconds to 30 minutes. but apart from that it has been pretty frustration free.
