Excitel Broadband User Experience in Gurgaon

Thank you for the reply, I have set 1480 as MTU, 8 bytes for PPPoE, effective MTU - 1472.

is PPPoE bad? is this why disconnections are happening?

the problem is pppoe server takes some time to give new ip to clients. every isp has session timeout which expire but with static ip its not very noticeable (a few packets lost at worst)

i do not know, could even vary by lco. i don't know what is the reason why excitel is sending resets, maybe some specific setting on their radius server?

if it was on radius server, I would not be getting 'lost carrier' as disconnection reason.
I remember for once my PPPoE was up for 7days and then reset by excitel because of session timeout.
That time I had MTU 1452, let me set 1452 and monitor if it fixes.

tf, do you have a picture or screenshot of it, I can show it to my LCO and prove him wrong.
Also tell your MTU/MRU size.

Thank you very much @imdarkray .

also your excitel is GPON based or EPON based?

I have seen my excitel PPPoE to stay up for more than 7 days. But the session in excitel website shows, it indeed resets within 7 days. Confused. May be I saw something else. Sorry @Ciggy
