The issue is, they have all the require data. If you wants to know abt any future program, you can look at the details, and its there, but its not linked with the TimeShift, where it is needed most.

well even the standalone EPG is a piece of shit. i still have not found a way to properly access it. it is already so freaking slow.

Pudu, so how much bandwidth do you think you have used till now (have you crossed 100gb?) since you changed your plan to 1299.
You mentioned twice that your speed was reduced, at what point of bandwidth usage you felt this happened?
I gave a strong worded email the Airtel Presence copied it to TRAI, on misinformation on their website on FUP where the cap mentioned is both 15gb and 100gb, nothing concrete back. Will let you guys know if they say something.
Btw thanks for being the Ginny pig!

my d/l speeds have been capped to 256 kbps. :(
strangely u/l speeds have not been capped. weird! :(

EDIT : My d/l speeds are back to 1 mbps. I guess Fair Usage Policy has not been applied as of yet.

@vidurchhabra I have used data worth 60 GB atleast since my new bill cycle started on the 27th of last June (10 days)

The data transfer includes both upload and download.

The 2 times my speed was decreased to 256 kbps happened during afternoon. My speed was back to normal a couple of hours later in the evening both times.

So, I guess Airtel is not strictly enforcing Fair Usage Policy as of now on my account. :touchwood:

I hope I am not tempting fate by posting this... :D

got a call. was sleeping. was pissed off. airtel guy offers me the 4mbps IPTV plan. he said 4mbps is till 50GB. i tried to explain him that even with 50GB, 4mbps would last me for a couple of hours. he kept on insisting it was a better offer. i was so totally pissed off. gave him a piece of my mind. turned off the phone. i am not sure if the guy has the power to switch my connection to the new package without my approval on the phone. :| but if he gets annoyed by my shouting and switches my package, i am screwed. :D

Admin I know the FUP is a pain, but it seems to be the best offer going around anywhere (I guess the price would be similar to your older 1800 bucks plan).I am also glad that they can manage to give 4mbps on an IPTV line. I was earlier in the impression that the limit of broadband download was 2mbps. Still waiting for them to get in touch with me, regarding my complaint..

well i can assure you that if you are downloading at 4 mbps on your IPTV line, the television stream is going to get affected. it is affected at 1mbps during torrenting, at 4mbps it is going to be a disaster. but then at 4 mbps 50GB would be consumed in a matter of 2-3 days for heavy users.

duh.

checked the official IPTV packages. they do not have any plans above 1mbps here. Digital TV from Airtel

i am not sure what airtel is doing calling up iptv customers offering them 4mbps plans.

it is interesting to know what will be the speed after FUP in 4 mbps, will it be half to 2mbps or switched to now standard airtel punishment speed of 512kbps! how much are the charging for this 4mbps? as it is not on the site. i think i may look for details, as i don't go upto 50 gb in a month, never checked this, but mostly my downloads are limited to 8-10 gb, and normal youtube etc should be additional 20gb or so.. not much. so i think 50 gb should be ok for me.also, whenever i m using my full speed on torrents, never experienced any delay or issues in my iptv, infact its long time now that i hv seen that red arial box on screen. i use utorrent and the speed i get is 125-128 for 3-4 hours to download my stuff, while watching the tv. but i mostly / only watch timeshift, so not sure if it is specific to live tv. i will check next time i put my pc to download anything.
