i already have telegram and i love it. i just said that whatsapp does not work for me. and their encryption implementation means that it is unlikely to ever get an independent desktop app on desktop. telegram does not offer secret chats from the desktop client for the same reason. and allo if and when it gets a desktop app, it is unlikely it would offer encrypted chats again.

you can have disappearing messages.

google has no involvement in these chats. they do not store it. they cannot read these messages.
