That's why it's 4.3 and not 5.0

Good to see gnex got this update. Most probably it will not get 5.0 update. For a 0.1 update, it offers fine features. I am interested in the smooth running feature. 4.1 was blazingly fast but 4.2 made it slow again.

Frankly, You mayn't see 5.0 until the 2 quarter of 2014 Google was iterated Android relatively quickly in order to make it comparable to iOS in terms of design and usability. That’s was good initially. But google found the pace of software change was faster than hardware change. I don’t mean in the power and functions of hardware: Chips of all kinds have improved just as quickly as software. But endusers don’t switch devices that quickly, often waiting 12 to 24 months to upgrade a phone. Google has realised that and slowed the pace of android versions while improving the platform at the same time with this approach. And it can also allow more time for hardware makers and carriers push Android updates out, helping to get more users on the most current version of Android. While all this happens, consumers will also help the process, by upgrading to newer phones with Android 4x or better. Looking at the situation this way, it's actually a smart strategy fron Google to focus less on the version of Android and instead improve the platform for developers and consumers with better APIs.

Would be pretty interesting to see what Google has planned for the Nexus 4 update. I mean it is just a few months away and with Android 4.3 getting official today, either we would get Android 4.4 or Android 5.0 on N4 2013 Edition.

Got a blog post which highlights the new features.
In Android 4.3, we're introducing restricted profiles, which let you manage per-user access to apps and content. Restricted profiles can be used in any number of situations. For example, restricted profiles enable parental controls, so certain family members are prevented from accessing mature content. Alternately, retail stores can use tablets as kiosks that show product information, or shops can use tablets as point of sale systems, all while limiting access to apps.
With Android 4.3, Nexus 4 can now connect to Bluetooth Smart sensors. Runtastic and many other developers are making Android apps compatible with these sensors.
Devices like the new Nexus 7 support OpenGL ES 3.0, the latest industry standard for accelerated 3D graphics. This brings photorealism to a whole new level in the games you're playing: blades of grass on the soccer field come alive, asphalt on the street looks real as you screech by, stubble on a villains' face almost pokes out of the screen. And with sophisticated effects like self-shadows, that villain looks even more menacing, casting a shadow on himself.
With Android 4.3 we’ve introduced a new autocomplete feature in the dial pad. Just start touching numbers or letters and the dial pad will suggest phone numbers or names. To turn on this feature, open your phone app settings and enable “Dial pad autocomplete”.
We’ve made major progress on enabling right-to-left layouts across the platform user interface: dialer, home and lock screens, settings, and more. This work builds on the support that we introduced for right-to-left layouts for Hebrew and Arabic speakers in Android 4.2. We’ve also added support for Hindi, Africaans, Amharic, Swahili, and Zulu.
