Anybody installed Kitkat in nexus 7(2012)? IAm thinking of doing it now. worth it?
Installed Kitkat and rooted the device again. But I haven't got the transparent bars yet

No Google Experience Launcher preloaded to the OS. Try sidelining GEL or install the latest Beta of Nova Launcher to get transparency.*sideloading GEL or..... (No 'edit post' on Tapatalk)

DO you lose root on nex 7 after installing KK? What rom did you use?

Yes. Rooting was gone as soon as kitkat was installed. stock rom. got factory images of 4.4 from google itself.

yup. Got an update of 1.4mb just now. tab is restarting now after installing update.
root access gone. y u do ths google?

I am on one of the stable cm releases. And I will flash one of the night lies I guess. Hopefully no root loss for me.

rooting/unrooting is not that a big process. Just that gesture control/greenify/titanium backup apps loose their functionality everytime there's an update.
