I have a 30 inch display that I watch from a distance of 3 feet. I doubt a 50 inch display would look any bigger from 10 feet.

30" monitor! I never knew the Dell you have is 30"! Right, no point then.

It's out of warranty and has tons of visual defects. So I would need to get a new display in the coming months. I have been thinking of creating a setup that would let me use it as a second display for media alone while working on a regular sized display for other stuff. Not going to be easy as it would require me to get a larger table (always a hassle) and a graphics card to handle both displays (adds noise). So, a TV might not be out of the question eventually.

I love the Chromecast. Even though Apple Music does not support casting natively, I'm able to cast the entire mobile screen and the audio to the TV which is in turn connected to my home audio.
