Our teams noticed that stray light had a tendency to disproportionately wash out darker skin tones, so we developed and implemented an algorithm to reduce its effect in our images.
Blurriness in portraits is a consistent concern for people with darker skin tones, so our teams used the Tensor chip’s processing power to make our portraits sharper through motion metering, even in low light conditions.

Has Google made any claim about how much their processor is faster (slower) than the latest iPhone?

I don't think they focused on that aspect at all. They did attack Qualcomm a lot. Basically said that they are no longer restricted by the hardware provided by an external company that could not keep up with their ML vision. The only place where they did mention competition was for the camera and that too for only image equity (optimizing photos for dark skinned people). Basically said Pixel 6 has the most inclusive camera in the market today. There was a line where they talked about how they showed photos taken from top phones in the market today and Pixel images were ranked best most or something like that. But then they probably did not have iPhone 13 available for that test. Not sure if Apple spends time highlighting this aspect of their cameras.

In the end, it would have been pointless. It's unlikely Tensor is better than the current or even last generation A series processor from Apple. Maybe they could catch up in a few years. Google's entry in this market is nice. Coz they have a lot of incentive to catch up to Apple A/M series processors. Chromebooks are not competing against MacBooks but in the smartphone market, it would be nice to get closer to Apple because these chips are going to get benchmarked if not already by people who might have the units for a few days for testing.

A Google spokesperson told Gadgets 360 the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will not be coming to India because of multiple factors. “Due to a variety of factors including global demand-supply issues, we are not able to make our products available in all markets. We remain committed to our current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to more countries in the future,” said the spokesperson in an emailed response.
