I think it's the latter. How much did you pay?
i took it for 3963 Rs.. for three months including all charges... installation+taxes ( gave them my tikona bill to get some discount). Cable operator said if i tak 6 months pack installation charges will be waived off
btw u get static ip ith docis ? becoz he has listed an IP on my form.. so static ip sounds good..

Your usage will be reset on the first of every month. I had the same query before moving to this plan. My previous one was on a monthly billing cycle as compared to quarterly prepaid. Enjoy your connection! :)

sorry need lil bit of clearification .. i have Quterly plan saying FUP 75GB ... so it means 25GB FUP per month.. now when u say it will be reset 1st of every month. does that mean if i have used say 40 GB in first month of the quter then for next two months i will still have 50GB left to be used under 50 mbps... ( those wo have already had this condition plz reply. )

Okay, here's what happens....
You have a monthly quota of 25 GB @ 50 Mbps, beyond that what ever you download will be restricted to 1 Mbps. But the the usage will not be counted on to next months 25 GB Pre-FUP quota. Usage will reset on 1st of every month.
Example:
From Feb 1st to 20th: I use up my 25 GB quota, speed drops to 1 Mbps
From Feb 20th to 28th: My usage is 8 GB.
Total Downloaded data = 33 GB
On March 1st at 12 midnight, the server will reset your usage and speed to 00 GB and 50 Mbps respectively. Get it? :)

Is Hathway cheating us ??
When i'm downloading a torrent and if that torrent is available on their btcache server then in peer list only btcache servers will appear. It blocks bittorrent from connecting to other peer and doesn't let us go beyond 1-1.5 (MBps) . Is it fair to stop bittorrent to connect to other peer and let only connect to btcache , although thats not true in case of torrent which are not available on btcache.
Shouldn't the downloads from btcache server be excluded from total FUP as that content is only download over LAN not from internet actually . You know FUP's are quite low on their plans.
even i don't get that 50mbps speed on all the site.. like right now i was watching a video on cnn and i'm getting upto 95kbps ( small kbps) only. They seems to have selective filtring like for speedtest.net they allow upto 50 mbps. My observation.

I'd disagree on that. I've used torrents and I always seem to get near 5.4 - 5.7 MBps. Though you must remember that to max out the line you will need more than 800 seeders. Try this µTorrent -> Options -> Preferences -> Bandwidth -> Set the global max connections at 900 and Max number of peers per torrent at 800. Also ensure that encryption is enabled. I'll try and post a screencap of the peer/tracker list the next time I'm downloading from torrents.
On your second point, most websites will never give you full 50 Mbps speeds. Even YouTube buffers a small portion of a 10 minute video and only buffers more if you're going to finish watching it. Imagine this, a 10 minute clip 50 - 100 MB in size would be buffered almost instantly on 50 Mbps, but if you don't watch the full video then that's a waste of your bandwidth, isn't it?
You won't find full 50 Mbit speed on any website except when you're downloading using IDM, where in the program creates 16 - 32 simultaneous connections to the server. No browser does this. The max you can expect is around 7 - 10 Mbps.
I must say though, downloading a full movie in 2 - 3 minutes has spoiled me. I wonder if I'll ever be able to go back to a 5 Mbps connection when I shift away from my house in a few months! ;)
