Can anyone tell me what are the contentin ratio for Hathway Docsis 3.0 plans. They have not listed it on their website. While other ISP's like Tikona do list contention ratio on their site. Its very important to know contention ratio as after FUP the speed is going to drop to upto 1mbps and that time contention ratio will play a major role in exactly what speed u get.
BTW anybody used up FUP limit and now under 1mbps or 512kbps speed can tell me what is the exact speed you are getting.
Before FUP: 50 Mbps Down, 4.5 Mbps Up (Almost 1:10)
After FUP: 1 Mbps Down, 1 Mbps Up (Exact 1:1)
This only applies to the plans in which speeds after FUP are 1 Mbps, don't know about the ones with 512 Kbps... they might be 512/512

Thanks for the info.. only thing i was worried about. They have not listed Contention ratio on their site that could create problem as i think TRAI allows upto 1:50 contention ratio after FUP. If they list the Contention then we can question them if not getting desired speed.
Anyways i have already applied for the DOCSIS connection .. will be getting it soon.
and yeah better dataCaps are required at max they have 50GB data cap then it goes to 1mbps ...its like you are on superbike and then suddenly you are driving "Scooty". After FUP should have been atleast 5 mbps (10% of original).

It was not a secret, but then again I see your point. People might misuse the info and that could lead to trouble. Fair enough, I've edited the original post. :)

The only problem is that their customer service guys are not very informed. For my plan change it took 10 mins for him to explain and he kept on referring to someone in the background. Speed and stability is terrific so far
