Have we reached the limit of inventions in technology

@toocool = my question was NOT abt E=mc2.. my question was why assume matter/particle cant go faster than light?

some people here say that everything is possible and on other hand say Einstein is right... so doesnt that counter each other?

it is not an assumption it is fact which is proved and a law of phycis which currently holds, many ppl have tried explaning this you by now, i posted a simple explanation which even a layman in science like me understands. let me try again.space and time are 2 parallel lines running togather , the fact you cannot go faster then ligh is when you reach the speed of light or 99.9999% TIME stops, hence you have nothing forward or nothing ahead to carry you on. then you have dark spots or dark holes again a big mystery which exist without any time and even light cannot escape them, maybe the only way humans can travel into deep space , you see sicence is evolving very fast things which were sci fi 50 years ago are facts now , give another 50 to 100 years and check back then !!

oh yeah there is one thing which does travel faster then light and that is info in human brain but that is not physical object. our brain holds the keys to all answers unlock that and you are 'god'.
 
No way are inventions going to end. It is just that there might be limits in some cases and inventions would diversify with time. Sometimes vertical inventions are nearly impossible like it happened with processor chips. But then horizontal inventions such a dual core, quad core, hexa core and penta core etc. came and then came hyperthreading and new technology etc. .. till the time there is human brain inventions would never stop. But the pace of inventions would decrease a bit at times due to limitations.

I saw couple of programs on Television last year about an Experiment being conducted in Europe (don't remember the place) which involved beating the speed of light.. I do remember this specifically as many Indian channels ran the story, they were claiming this would cause 'end-of-earth'... the experiment din't go well and nothing happened... Does any one remember it? This Experiment was also mentioned in the movie 'Angels and Demons'...

This argument (not discussion) of can we time-travel aka can the speed of light be breached is going on since Einstein said it is not possible... and frankly NO ONE has convinced the world that Einstein is wrong YET!

But that doesn't mean everyone is convinced that he is right, infact more and more scientists (yes scientists, not me nor amish) are trying to prove him wrong... google EPR Paradox for example...

if u have been following "does gods exist" thread all science believers including me, there have been telling all the time there that science is READY TO ACCEPT NEW FINDINGS WITH AN OPEN HEART as long there are enough proof of new findings available .


Yes, science questions everything and is only satisfied with a proof... But you are missing the bigger point that even science can be questioned and proved otherwise... This is not a topic that has been settled yet... it is still at a nascnet stage, a stage where people beleive that 'Sun revolves around Earth' state. Had it been that we were satisfied with this answer we wouldn't have know the truth about sun (nor would we be arguying about light now).

The object can go even 99.99999...(1000 times)% of light... but it will never ever go as fast as light or faster than it. Don't get your hopes high.

Before you say that science itself can be proved otherwise please define science.
 
This thread is really a clone of the thread "Does God Exist".......initially the statement was taken lightly. But now it looks reality!

the thing is, every thing we have observed upto now is in agreement with Einstien's theory, there are many other such theories/concepts which have stood the test of time.
yes, its possible that he may be proven wrong or perhaps a better or improved version of his theory might be found, like how he improved on Newton's concept of gravity, the latter i feel may be the more probable case.

i think till the date human beings are alive, there are always possibility of some breakthrough innovation all the time .......because a lot of innovations and innovative thoughts comes into human minds very suddenly OUT OF THE BLUES........which means we cannot rule out any possibility of any new innovation thought ever:listening_headphone

@ Toocool....that like was for the obvious comment which brought a smile on my face, even though i m sleepy! :D@ the link posted by Saarth......yeah, it has to be termed an innovation - cant term "1000 times" as "Enhancement" especially if it happens almost overnight. If it happens over ages, it is "enhancement". But this is something serious.
