MTNL Delhi Help, i need to replace my router

So, i am using the mtnl 450tc1, which is the default one, for the past 5 years. And. It has been hell. The internet light occasionally just vanishes. I have to call myself and let it ring for a minute to get it back. Severely annoying. Well, i read that it might be because of the router that i am using, and i thought to replace it. I went to FK, but they have the option for cable broadband, ethernet, and ADSL. That's where i do not know what to do, and would love your help. I have a wire plugged into the DSL part of the router. But it also has an option for the ethernet cable, which i used up until i sold my desktop. Now i use just WiFi. Also, there is a little box that has 3 wire into it, 2 on one side, 1 on the opposite side. It says PHONE and ADSL on one side, and LINE on the other. One of the wires is plugged into a socket, another to my landline, and the last one to my router (not necessarily in order). Well, sorry for rambling, but if anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. If required, i will upload pictures of the little box and my router. Thanks a lot!

I'm checking that one out, what should i do with the little box? Leave it as is?

If you have time and patience to deal with MTNL guys you can ask them to change your router after all you are paying a rent of 100rs. every month to them.

But i would still have to buy my own router? Also, i don't need patience to deal with MTNL, they have some kind of permanent telephone/internet guy for our apartments.

Yeah, i suppose that's it. I still won't know, I know nothing about these things
