Help Me in Configuring WAG54G2 with BSNL Connection.

@funycool Do you see anything like Wireless security.Enter that page you will see disabled select WPA2 as security mode.From there you can follow up on screen. Just remember the password. Modem will not reboot.

Wireless Configuration : Manual ( *default secured)

Network Mode: Mixed ( *dont care )

SSID : Linksys

Wireless Channel: 11 - 2.462 GHZ

SSID Broadcast: disable

The SSID is the network name shared by all devices in a wireless network. It is case-sensitive and must not exceed 32 keyboard characters in length. Make sure this setting is identical for all devices in your wireless network. For added security, you should change the default SSID to a unique name.
Wireless SSID Broadcast
If this feature is enabled, wireless clients will detect the SSID broadcast by the device when they survey the local area for wireless networks to join. To broadcast the device�s SSID, keep the default setting, Enable. If you do not want to broadcast the device�s SSID, then select Disable.

Yours may appear now as "linksys" probably secured.

The internet was working but not smoothly... some sites are not working...Brother says it shows sometimes it shows stay offline or connect. and he also mentioned it showed some DNS error.Shall i change the DNS server to use some other DNS server other than BSNL?Please suggest.

@funnycool ModemRouter WAG54G2 in Hyderabad. settings changed from remote computer in Tokyo( application Teamviewer)confirm1.At Hyderabad the BSNL connection is set to "Always On" now2.Desktop works in Lan mode.3.Laptop works in WIFI mode.4.WIFI mode is secured.5.No other wireless network list appears in your computer.6 Make a back up of all settings via the router.( you may need it !)7. Confirm whether you can access the router if dynamic IP in Hyderabad is given now ?8.Change DNS to openDNS 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.2209. MTU may have to be set to 1492 or lower if some web sites do not open.I think it is in AUTO now. 10. Please Reply each query by number.( if you use [ quote ] xxx [/quote] it will help others to understand the thread topic. Mostly earlier posts ignored by many. 11.I have also downloaded Team Viewer. If the default MTU of 1500 doesn't work, please try using 1492 or 1454 whichever works for you. By the way how much did WAG54G2 cost? I'm planning to buy one.

7. Router is assiging dynamic ips between 192.168.1.2 to 50 i have set it in DHCP
8. Done that just now. Dad is rebooting machine (I have a blog niharsworld.com which is opening from here and was not opening from there. AFter DNS ip change let me try opening it again). As i am composing. my dad came online. I opened my blog now it opens with OPEN DNS. was it because, BSNL DNS Server dint' had the ip address of my blog?

Usually OpenDNS ones are considered more efficient. Thats all.

many sites take a lot of time to load using bsnl dns servers..but at times bsnl dns servers are way faster than opendns

@essbebe , @armaan,Updates: My brother used internet from last 24 hours and just now gave me update. He is now on PPPoehe says sometimes he gets disconnected. meaning some websites don't open and when i was on chat with him on gtalk. sometime he suddenly goess offline.He says BSNL is giving disconecting probs for atleast 4-5 times today.Can you guide me whats the issue?my frnds told BSNL don't have any prob frequently...Thanks in aadvance.

Hope you've used the splitter. Sometimes this can be the cause of frequent disconnections unless there's predominant noise in the line.Also if MTU 1492 isn't working fine for all the websites, try 1454.
