hi friends, I am using a dial up connection for the past several years. I always wanted a broadband connection from BSNL ever since it was launched. Because if i can get any speedy internet then BSNL broadband is the only way. When inquiring about the possibilities, it looked like there is no way i can get this. Lately by using my father's influence i came very close to get a connection. But again at the end the telephone exchange guys told me, my home is far away from the exchange (some 7 KMs), so i cannot able to get the connection. Even if i do get one, then it'll not be a reliable one. What else i can do guys? to get a speedy internet. I had gone through all the possibilities. Wireless connection is not possible due to poor signal reception. And there is no coverage from all the other ISP's except BSNL. Is it not possible for me to get a broadband connection from BSNL because of the distance factor? It is a rural area. There will be noise in the line quite often. What can i do?I am helpless and stranded. Help me friends...

yes.. that could be a problem..but you could do some more searching on service like tata photon, wimax, etc.. they should work well..

the guys in my local exchange told me that, broadband will work only with in 3 KMs around the exchange, is it true friends?

Distance from exchange can have an influence on the broadband performance. You can try a WLL connection for internet. It is unlimited at 18 KBps or 144 kbps. At this point it will be the best option.

7km is thing we should take into consideration... dude i was wondering why can't u take a wireless option into account ... Try for any Photo or Reliance net connect .l

yes, started searching for wireless connection... tata or reliance... before buying either one, i will look for a demo, how good the signal reception is. reliance has the coverage in my area. but on the edge of its coverage territory. also worried about its customer service and billing issues.P.S: sorry for OT discussion.
