Get the unlocked Tata photon max WiFi dongle from eBay. I've no idea about MTS CDMA plans, but I can list TATA/RCOM's plans if you're interested.

If nothing, it'll at least ensure that you aren't stuck with a locked dongle from mts.

Won't the MTS guy give a demo at home?

Nope. WiFi dongles don't use the dialer app. You can access the backend over WiFi itself. But, powering it on, auto connects the network.
