I recently moved from Asianet Broadband (Docsis 3.0) due to poor upload speeds , Kerala vision was the only ISP in my area which provides 100 Megabit both up and down .

@Gokul Kannan I think the port forwarding I did was right , the thing is my plex server keeps identifying a WAN IP and public IP mismatch , most likely due to the CGNAT that Kerala vision is using. I asked the LCO and he seemed stunned when i told him its because of CGNAT .

Has anyone used the Kerala vision Static IP , does it solve the CGNAT issue ?
I am not sure how KV assigns static IP, but ISPs using CG-NAT typically assign a static private IP and map it to a static public IP using 1:1 NAT.
If that is how KV is also doing, you would still get a private IP on your WAN interface and plex will report WAN and public IP mismatch.

@vu3knb hi,keralavision has opened up three ports for me they send it over as an email with the public ip and open ports and subscriber code , how do I enable these on my router, I forwarded the ports but the public ip doesn’t match the one they send
Did you pay for static IP for them to open those 3 ports?

Guys how much does it costs anyway. Like you should pay 1000/- as a one time payment and still normal monthly fee + extra 1000? 🙃

For getting static IP address I paid 2150 Rs. They didn't say about any additional payment. The IP is assigned to me for 1 year. My current plan is 125mbps 4000gb fup. It is around 950 Rs. per month. Maybe that's why no additional payment. The 1000 Rs per month you asked is the minimum plan you are having. For my case the the 950 Rs. plan seems enough.

But the problem is I am only getting it ready now. Still haven't able to port forward yet. I have a TrueNAS scale server running. I have emailed kerala Vision regarding this. I will update the rest soon.

Edit: Quick update, I rebooted the router and everything works now. Ports are forwarded perfectly.

@sreelxmn Is the Rs 2150 including GST? Is that like the yearly rental for static IP address?

I am trying out KV now, they have this offer for 90 days service for Rs 1197 + tax (125 Mbps), free installation + ONT.

I had sent an email asking for a static IPv6 prefix, but haven't had a resolution yet. I don't necessarily need IPv4.
