@bhoj74
as far as i understand even bacteria has some kind of solid body and shape , its not a water molecule right ? so even bacteria when passes through RO membrane is stuck and stopped via RO membrane , so as far as i know UV is also just a fancy name and just adds to the mrp and mind satisfaction to pay those extra 2 grands ., i would love to know if if my perception is wrong about bacteria and UV filter
@Vinay , just as bhoj74 said , yes you can change spares on your own , and bhoj is an expert on this
however , the quality of plastic also matters in which your pure water will be stored everyday , that was the only reason i went for whirlpool , because as its a brand and as i understand and they themselves claim that they use food grade plastic , so i wont suggest any local type RO filter because i am not sure whether they use food grade plastic or not, generally only food grade plastic is safe for use incase of drinking water , any other plastic is dangerous and contaminates the PURE RO water itself ....................i didnt have budget but if i had it i would have gone for LG RO filters which has stainless steel water containers and cost is 20 k i beleive , so went for the best known thing.............food grade plastic
