How to surrender BSNL FTTH Bharat Fiber Broadband Connection?

Hi,

I had taken a BSNL Broadband connection way back in the year 2006. We took the modem, the standard UT300R2U on rent and after many months, they stopped charging us the rent for the same as well.

Now, after 8 years, I'd like to surrender the Broadband connection while keeping the landline services intact as is.

I plan on surrendering the service sometime this week. Could someone please guide me on how to get it done at one go? I need to take half day's leave from office to finish this. :/ I will be going to the Indiranagar Exchange in Bangalore.

For now, I know that I need to write a letter and submit it to the exchange. But don't know to whom I must address the letter or what it must contain. Which of these things must I also return to BSNL?

1) Modem
2) LAN cable
3) Steel type USB cable
4) Power adapter
5) Telephone cable

Anything else I need to give back to them?

Thanks a lot guys. Will really appreciate some detailed responses. :)

Solution
You cant apply for disconnection without paying pending bills.. So first you need to clear any pending bills and then apply for disconnection. After disconnection, dont pay the final bill as it can be adjusted against security deposit.
Go to telephone exchange of your area (not customer care center), write a letter and address it to commercial officer.
Tell them you need to surrender the Landline and Broadband connection since you do not need it anymore.

If you have purchased modem keep it and and surrender only the telephone instrument . Clear all your dues.
If you want to retain the Telephone instrument 250 will deducted form your deposit. It will take 2-3 months for the final settlement and you will receive a check to your address

Hope this helps.

Hi
yesterday i surrendered my broadband connection while retaining the landline connection. the procedure was quite simple as Venkatachar says. I wrote a letter addressed to the commercial officer of the concerned exchange and handed it over personally. i was given a printed slip as acknowledgement stating that the broadband connection would be discontinued from the next billing cycle.
i had to do this as bsnl broadband was no more attractive after the free nightplan was discontinued.

Hi, I am surrendering my BSNL Landline/Broadband connection. I have few doubt. Please have a look.
Currently i have BSNL 2091rs plan so if i surrender my connection before 20th nov then do i still need to pay full 2091rs bill of this month or bill will be deducted for unused days?

Do i need to mention them how much security they need to pay me back. Its up 3000rs. Below is attachment. Can you tell me refundable security.

And whom to write the surrender latter. And what should be the format. Can you please write a surrender later to me in comments.
Do i need to attach any document/bill etc?

Thanks

I also want to know the procedure, what i heard from one of my friend is.

1) You need to address a letter to SDE
2) Surrender all the equipment given by BSNL
3) And about the re-fund money i don't know about it.

No need to write a letter or anything. Just go to the selfcare portal : Loading Portal... , there select the surrender option along with the reason. It will be disconnected within 24 hrs. (Mine was disconnected in just 4 hrs and the lineman came next day.) Also, you won't be charged for the whole month. And DON'T PAY YOUR LAST BILL. Because getting your security back from BSNL is also a huge headache. Instead write a letter to the Accounts Officer, ask him to adjust your last bill from your security and send the remainder to your bank account. I did all this just a month ago.
