That's odd, in my area only CSC's accept disconnection request and even new connection requests. The exchange doesn't accept any of these requests.

Yes, this was way back when i surrendered my adsl line. CSC said i need to visit exchange for surrendering since they need to refer to the file , even though BSNL was digitized. As i said things might have changed now.

Can you detail what problems you faced I'm thinking of switching to BSNL because its cheaper and my Railwire connection is really up and down since the Karuna times.
