he had decided for tests. not for ODI's. not in a single article he has said that i had planned to quit odi's.
Also the article you quoted was gain for tests which ended in 2012.
in 2013 he was planning to play for odi's.

Commenting on the squad, National Selector John Inverarity said: "Missing from the last Australian ODI team that played Pakistan in Sharjah on 3 September are Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, David Warner, Matthew Wade, Dan Christian and James Pattinson. "Michael has been battling a hamstring injury for a few weeks and will have a break,
they were planning to include him at a later stage.
also not a single word from hussey officially about odi retirement

I am not sure which article is trustworthy. And international cricket includes all forms by default.
I feel maybe he had decided to retire after the series, but the selectors just decided to move on...

there are tons of articles all quoting the same.

Hussey's suspicions proved well-founded, for his announcement was followed by his omission from the limited overs squads to see out the summer, though he remained available for selection throughout.
dunno if cricinfo article is trustworthy enough for you.
The news reports said the word "international cricket", hussey only said from tests officially

Michael Hussey will not get his desired ODI farewell at least partly to keep Usman Khawaja and Phillip Hughes away from the Twenty20 Big Bash League ahead of the India tour, the national selector John Inverarity has admitted.
"Our intention before two weeks ago was to give Michael a break during the Sri Lankan series and then have him refreshed and ready to come back into the ODIs against the West Indies and then off to India," Inverarity said. "Of course things changed a bit last week. We've talked it over with Mike but the overriding fact is what's best for Australian cricket and we move forward.
Inverarity unveiled a curious squad for the first two matches of the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka on Sunday, captained by George Bailey while Brad Haddin resumes as the ODI gloveman in order to allow rest for Michael Clarke and Matthew Wade. David Warner has also been given time off after playing all formats for the past year.
So Hussey was not the only one in that perspective.

Hmm.. No ODIs were scheduled against India.
I believe Hussey wanted to play the one ODI series after the Test series, but not beyond that. So, selectors decided to move on.
And from the horses's mouth

He clearly says after the ODI series, play for Western Australia. But cant see himself playing international cricket anymore.

I think in the article they were referring to the odi's scheduled later for india in oct-nov, but it doesn't makes sense as the ct was there in between coupled with various different odi's in the gap

Anyway, he clearly says international cricket in the video - NOT Test cricket.
He wanted to play ODI series immediately following the Tests, that is also obvious, but definitely not beyond that.

Contradictory statements from Inverarity

Heh. Mathews won the toss and decided to bat but New Zealand bowlers were immaculate. They made use of the early conditions and also some good fielding from them as well. SL bundled out for a mere 138. Nice to see Daniel Vettori back in the team!
