This month I used 3 GB, instead of 2.5GB Free download, lets see how much they are charging. If it is 20 paise per mb, then they will charge only Rs. 100+tax i think.

I think minimum hire period for a plan is one month. You cannot change before next month. You can also check with the Admin dept of your exchange and confirm.

Try talking to the SDE of your exchange. Also post your SNR and Attenuation values. Ask the line man to give a line with no joints and replacing non insulated parts.

If nothing works, you can talk to the Nodal officer or Appellate authority.

As a last option try " Tarang " WLL phone from BSNL. But the maximum speed will be 114 Kbps.

Thnx for your nice reply. I many time spoke to SDE who is well known to me, thats why he never care about n only says, exchange is far so speed will always be problem. Now I am thinking to contect Nodal Officer with my complaint number which is pending since one month. SNR never crossed to 7, so tell me who is the right person to whom i shd write? I realy want to screw BSNL even will not hasitate to bring in court. One more thing, my villages fells 5 kms from exchange n exchange is urban. One rural exchange is near to my village just 1 kms, but my lines from urban where as i m in rural. Now a days its also fighting with bsnl for urban and rural. I dont understand, urban exchange can make my rural position to URBAN:hysterical:

The exchange guy was stubborn. Never listened to me when I asked him to reset the line rate.

"I am on BBG Combo ULD 1350 plan which has 4 mbps speed upto 20 GB wef 1/2/11. The line rate for my port on DSLAM is set to 2048 (2 mbps) which should be 4096 (4 mbps)"

I issue resolved within a week.

You can send a written complaint with receipt to both Nodal officer and Appellate authority. ID and phone no. behind you bill. You can also call them and seek help. If you have an exchange just 1 KM away, try to get a connection there. Since you are in good terms with SDE, you may able to persuade him. Give it a try.

This really helped! Now my speed has been upgraded. However, noticed that my SNR margin has come down quite a bit - from 40+ to 28Is this something normal? Thanks!

Your issue got resolved within 2 days that's great. :)28 SNR is Excellent but you had 40+ that was Outstanding

Thanks to you for suggesting the link :)

28 SNR is Excellent but you had 40+ that was Outstanding

Yeah I know, but the data rate has also been increased from 2048 to 9000+ and that's why the SNR has shot down.

However, till now I haven't had any disruption in connectivity - it's going stable [touchwood]

So considering a data rate of 9000+, is an SNR between 24-28 okay?

Also could you please let me know how I can check the max attainable rate of my modem UT300R2U?

Thanks again!
