Battery inside chip made bubble in the card and now it's not working... i called the customer care and they said they will replace it and they will charge 100 + gst .. everytime we have to replace the card ???? Is this battery chip ne sensory? I think I can go with the basic card itself...

Then what is the use of this nexxt card... if I go back to normal card ?
I already confirmed for the replacement and now how i can again ask them to make a normal one..

yeah. standard chartered replaced my card for free when i filed a request complaining about how the scratches on the magnetic strips was causing failure on pos machines. basically, card is issued for free if i retain the same number. replacement only costs money if i ask for a new number.

if i were you, i would ask them to cancel the card if the replacements are not free in case of battery discharge.

they really shouldn't tbh. All the banks Ive used till now provided free replacements if cards are damaged.

even two months back, I reported a possible fraud with my card, kotak mahindra just cancelled the card and sent a new one with different number for free within 2 days.

exactly. they'll only charge if you ask for a new number on card. Even that is waived off if you're old customer sometimes.
