Is going for Tata sky really worth?

According to my exp with Tata Sky, they are doing the good job with good customer care support.

I think u bought a good dth Service.

Thank you for the opinion,but i got TS is better than SUN DTH, signal strength is almost touching 100%,Channels are coming quickly(when we change one channel to another).TS soots for me

I would like to hear from a customer who has discontinued using TS for any reason. What happens to the STB? I think that the STB will be unlocked if the TS digicard is removed. It can then be used with a new dish and LNB for watching free Ku band channels. Will appreciate any feedback.

In sun direct also the channels are coming soon when changing from one to the other.

Yes indeed, you can always use it for receiving ku band signals, if your set top box is not locked programeticaly through it's firmware (software),
I am using this crap (the Set Top Box sitting on my TV without recharge done) to view FTA channels. But all you need to take care is catch right signals from your dish:yahoo:

Thanks. Perhaps thomson can be approached for firmware upgrade; or our software techies may do it when more stbs are rendered surplus.

No, this is a complusory charge and no way to avoid this charge but you can bargain with the dealer who is selling the STB and get discount of Rs.200-300
