If this is true, and the existing customers are not satisfied, there may be a huge customer flow from DTV to TS from Dec-01. Coz, from Dec-01 you should be able to switch the providers without changing the STB, like you switch the mobile providers now.DTV should be having something in their anvil to counter this.

Buddy, I don't think changing the service providers is not going to be that easy atleast in the initial years. Both operators use different makes of STBs and different firmware and different applications for broadcasting even though they use same DTH framework. Its not going to be easy like changing the SIM Card in a GSM phone. The better comparison is a CDMA phone as the STBs are locked by the respective operators and unlocking and reusing them is going to be cumbersome. Also they may charge for switching the operators. Also Dec. 1 is hardly 5 days away and we can't expect this switching happen rightaway. At the most we can expect some new channels and we may even loose some channels, because now Dish TV and TSky can pick and choose on a a-la-carte basis from the broadcaster's bouquet. We can see some serious action happening in the coming months in this sector.

I agree with you Mek, it won't be that easy to shift on other dth, and also not like changing sim cards.
