how would you feel if the company that launches a product that revolutionizes something but uses the legal system in such a way that they prevent anyone else from offering a similar service in the name of patent infringement? would you prefer a world with just one search engine, one mapping platform, one mobile carrier, one mobile phone company, one car company etc etc.
I won't prefer that kind of world. And certainly
Apple won't prefer it that way because hypothetically if they have dominated the 100% market then there will definitely be certain decrease in their driving force passion. As Steve had always said that their vision is to make the best products on the planet. That's what drives them come to Apple every day in the morning to make the world little better.
Anyways tell me when there ever was any patent infringement based on any service?
Samsung basically copied the look & feel of
iPhone. The basic design of iPhone &
iPad. Their first 3 touchwiz were the clear copies of iOS. In earlier stages with
Android,
Google was trying to copy the dominant RIM. But with the launch of iPhone, they tore down their OS & directly copied iPhone OS. iOS was built in UNIX. The stripped down & made from scratch version of Macintosh. Google copied it with Linux based Android. It was like that till gingerbread. With 4.0 era both Google & Samsung started to drift apart from Apple design/OS to avoid the patent infringement trouble.
It's clearly seen when Samsung's
Galaxy Tabs & Nexus devices were banned for infringing Apple's patent. And war has just started. We will see.
And Android users should not be proud of their OS even 1%. Yes they will have some additional this & that half-assed features like Face Unlock, Voice Input etc but most of them are totally unaware that they are basically using the rip-off phones which are functioning because of Apple's patented Multi-touch & iOS core.
There is no such thing in me like fanboyism. I have recently admired Google's efforts in Android Jelly Bean but what all you android people fail to understand is that look at the phones before the iPhone. Look at the
tablets & palmtops before the iPad. And look after it. You'll get the idea. All of those were made possible because of Apple Multi-touch, core iOS & several other essential developed layers.
And they copied it blatantly. To me that is wrong.
