I tried priority mode. But was hoping someone who has figured it out could help.

these settings worked for me. phone vibrated on an incoming call from my landline just fine.

ya it seems so,
they were told motherboard needs to be changed and was very expensive plus their no service center in Alld. for it so they brought it back
as leaving it in Delhi was not possible as how would they collect it after repairs.

Press down on volume and touch the bell phone goes to vibrate. This seems the shortcut i was looking for.

Moto G (almost all recent Moto phones) are coming with splash resistant nano coating.. But dropping in SALT water will kill it for sure.. Salt water / sea water is more dangerous than rain water, imho...

make sure you have https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.ccc.ota&hl=en app installed & updated. probably you need to wait for motorola to release the update to next batch of devices as motorola does updates in batches.

I received lollypop update just now , wasnt getting it till yesterday ( last checked ) .
