MTNL Broadband: Backdated usage details

Officially Screwed For Over Rs.5000 By MTNL
I changed from 849NU to Trib200 on 4th June.
Ideally the change happens at 10.30 or later in the morning when they come into the office.Online it showed the change only after 11.30am so thats when I knew it was changed officially

So on 4th June from 0000 to 0800 I DL about 4-5GB,
AND THEY HAVE ADDED THIS BACK DATED ENTRY which earlier only showed usage post 0800 on 4thJune
Now usage at 5755MB

Someone is sitting and doing this manually....exchange by exchange,user by user :wall:
Hope he rots in hell,coz I'll have to pay 5K to cover his bus fare so he gets there !!!!

Screwballs did not reset usage for 849NU users
Then the came out with a stupid 256K UL package at Rs2.5K for Mumbai users
Now they are individually hunting down and screwing us poor Mumbai souls, and they aint even using vaseline !!

I feel your pain dude, same here. During my engineering exams in May, I had changed to the TriB 200P plan, and immediately after, back to NU. Although the plan changed showed on their site, I've been slapped with a bill for 2500 bucks outta which phone calls are only of 60 Rs and 150 Rs rental.

Hi all.I went thru every single post on this thread. This issue raises important ethical questions i think. a) Most of the posters on this forum may be expert, but there may be many internet users who may not know how to find out the quantum of mb's they have downloaded voluntarily, or involuntarily thru malware. They may be checking their isp log only, and believing it.b) In today's world, where a pizza company refunds the money in case the product is not delivered within 30 mins, is a ISP ethically justified in updating usage records after 10-15 days, and charging for it? I mean shouldnt there be a maximum leeway period of ideally 24hrs, and max 48hrs for any website problems.c) Ultimately whose responsibilty is it to monitor the MB's? Do cutomers have a responsibility to install additional software to monitor their downloads? Or is it on the ISP to be informing them accurately.d) Yes, the users also were not exactly correct, as all of them admit downloading thinking the mtnl sites were down, but what about those who may have downloaded extra believing the mtnl usage record to be right. Points a,c,d i am not certain about.. but b i stongly feel about.@SocratesCan u tell how do u maintain the excel log? By copy-paste from mrnl site after each session , or sm other way. My log sheet can only tell me the time I was logged in for any session & any event of importance that occurred eg If I had both machines on, poor speeds, disconnections etc which are an aide to memory. I also use DU meter for keeping tabs on DL. I use IE7, FF3 & Safari 3

My commiserations with u. But ur case, it seems the error is not on ur part at all. Incidentally, in Delhi, any plan change gets implemented only from next month 1st, ist it different in mumbai ?

I applied for the plan change on 1st June when I called up 1500.
But they take a few days to do it and It finally changed online on 4th June.

And yes in Mumbai, they do it on any day of the month. Turn around time min 2 days

[*] They call u back a second time with a confirmation call on the number u want the change for.After this the CC issue a Work order and send it to the respective exchange
[*] Then the exchange calls u a third time, to tell you that the change has been updated

it goes down mostly everyday, earlier it wud come back up next morning but now a days comes back online even at around 11-12 night

I know I almost used another 2 or 3 Gb in the days from 1st June to 4th June
