All these experiences are actually learning experiences. Helps to understand human nature. "Psychology of the individual" as my fave author used to say. Yes there are experiences like socrates' bitter break but with most of the others, it is possible to see the funny side after the initial irritation has worn off.

I know, you were not referring to the DSL 598 walas. So no offense meant none taken. I agree with you totally on the blindly opting for a plan without knowing the different plans available.
I deliberately said modem as many modems have it inbuilt or in some cases MTNL does not give ( I don't know why, its happened in our colony), also did not want to confuse the uninitiated

This a general comment as I have answered many questions where this is the problem where the member is unaware of this rule.
Sorry I can't find the thread where you answered my question so this is OT here. Just wanted to keep you guys updated.
As I mentioned elsewhere, I had called 1500 and requested for a change to a wireless modem on 15th. They didn't have stock at the time and said it would come in a couple of days. I called again on 18th and they gave me a couple of numbers at my exchange. I called one number and the guy said the modems are ready to be picked up (from Prabhadevi?) but he didn't have a vehicle that day.
This morning I was surprised to get a call from a MTNL guy on my mobile phone telling me that he was going to come and replace my modem. Good service or what?
My misfortune that nobody will be at home during the day till Wednesday so I requested him to come on Thursday.
I have been finding MTNL guys more and more responsive of late. And what's even better, I never go to the exchange. I somehow manage to get the right guys on the phone. Or perhaps my exchange has good people.
