MTNL Mumbai MTNL Throttling speed or just overload of infrastructure

I think mtnl has more business users with contention ratio to both home n business users.
Which makes it overload during day time.
Or maybe temporary glitch while adding more capacity.

I doubt any business uses mtnl as primary connection. Tata all the way.

We should not forget that there are many small companies - thousands of.

MTNL plans are very cheap and lines are stable too.

Even retail shops have MTNL DSL lines.

In evening as shops start closing load on servers decrease hugely.

A while ago on another thread (https://broadband.forum/threads/mtnl-broadband-8mbps-plans) you had said that you were having issues ( due to congestion on SOTL and you were getting an alcatel gateway) are those problems fixed now? and do you get close to 8mbps 24x7?

Should i specifically ask them to move my connection to a port on the SOTL DLSAM?

No such luck for me. Same everyday. During the day i get shitty speeds, at night a little more than 8mbps

I live at Shivaji Park, Dadar. Any idea if tata services my area? I had filled out my details on their callback form a few months ago, but nobody called back.

Yes. Please go to Prabhadevi telephone exchange and on the ground floor of the tall building, meet a lady called Mrs. Mukadam. Tell her your speed issues and she will move you to SOTL. You may have to be little forceful but maintain your politeness with her.

It is not a congestion issue. It is due to the faulty configuration of the New Alcatel server. Once you are on SOTL, speed and website loading issues would be a thing of past.
