@Satyajeet Thanx for your inputs, it will prove useful to many other members/readers. I am suffering a problem of fluctuating speeds at different times of day. After a month I got 5 calls yesterday asking about my well-being :mad: I had to tell them the problem as many times as they called :cry: One even had the cheek to ask me if she could close the complaint. My connection is currently under observation for a few days no, if there is no improvement then I will write to [email protected] with a cc to the ed. Me & @krish_88 had the same experience of posting on twitter & getting ignored. looks like they use their handles to blow their own trumpet but not realising how many people can read & form a judgement

Yeah.. Also, previous complaints are ignored completely. When you tweet them asking about the complaint status, They tend to go always on the Ignore mode. No response..
Looks as if this is what their Digital India campaign is all about.. Go to Ignore Mode.

Yup That Digital India project which started looking like a great initiative just seems to have become a platform for tall claims & announcements which knowing PSU's might never fructify or take many years to see the light of dayby then I might be too old to use a computer :p:p:p:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Dont waste your time mailing edsocialmedia. I had tried that as well with no response. And the "24 hour observation" is total BS. One guy i was interacting at my exchange who according to the lineman was "Woh saab internet sambhaaltey hai" fed me the same BS speil.

When i called him 2 days later he said its still under observation and before ending the call asks me for my phone number again... = nothing was done and it was just a line fed to me to get me off their backs

@Sher

I had same problem with Ericsson with regards to speed during the day..... change port to SOTL(120.63.x.x) / Alcatel(182.59.x.x)

@realsoccerdude1

1.) 59.183.x.x is Ericsson.

2.) I had asked for SOTL.... but they put me on Alcatel(182.59.x.x)..... I have no complaints though..

3.) As of 1 month using Alcatel(182.59.x.x).... Zero packet loss.... excellent latency.... 23Hrs sessions.... perfect speeds throughout the day.

4.) That is what I am assuming as well.... considering that I am now on 182.59.x.x.... same as @kickass who is in complete different area of the city.

5.) As per my years of experience on Ericsson... some IP range are good..... but most are bad.... so you never know where you will land after a 10Hr session.....

6.) Mostly 8Mbps guys are on ADSL2+ with Annex M...... 2Mbps or below are on G.Dmt

Same Recommendation : Change Port to SOTL(120.63.x.x) / Alcatel(182.59.x.x)...... people at exchange will always tell you Ericsson is good.... but show them packet loss / Timeouts screenshots then they will understand..... OR you can email your port change request with those sreenshots to your area's Appellate Authority

@panzer008
How do I obtain these screenshots to use as proof? I am going to try a bit more before I ditch MTNL completely, since my current plan is in a sweet spot that other plan or providers won't reach, both price wise and bandwidth wise. A little bit of help will be much appreciated.

Rather than send them screen shots use a free screen recorder like Jing and record your screen as you do a speed test

That way they can see a video of whats really happening and cant refute your proof

Thanks for the tip, but my main question is, from where/how do I get the proof? Speed test from which site/utility?

Recently I read news reports about C-DOT’s next generation network (NGN) which has been tried successfully by MTNL . This technology has exciting prospects fr MTNL & its customers, hope its implemented quickly but I would not hold my breath >:):rolleyes:
