I am on 59.182 :( But I dont want my IP range to change!

Btw good observation if its working - will try.

i am on 182x and it is absolutely been perfect for a months now. literally no downtime.

yea 182x is really great.... plus greater than 10Hr sessions.... havnt really tested how long the sessions are... switching between cablenet & mtnl doesnt let me test it...
Is it 24Hrs session now?..... last I saw was 16Hrs....

I am facing this issue for a while, the trick to solve it is reboot the router 5 times. And the number of times I do that I am inching towards calling Hathaway and switching to them.

@FireSword
ur on Ericsson..... which has speed issues during the day.... 11AM-6PM.... and very dynamic IP's are good.... rest will hav packet loss...
Only Ericsson range without any problems is 59.184.x.x..... which probably only @x720 is on.....

I was on Ericsson 59.182.x.x...... so I use to manually disconnect a lot to get tht dynamic IP in the good range for next 10Hr session.... You can try the good IP range 59.182.0.x to 59.182.14.x and 59.182.48.x to 59.182.63.x...... The third block of IP is wht u need to keep track of..... On avg the third block of IP changes @ 2permin.... so I could time it accordingly...

OR send email to your respective appellate authority. to change your port to SOTL...... My port was changed in 2 days after sending the email. You will not get any reply to that mail but a confirmation call on landline that your problem is solved which means port is changed.

@Satyajeet
You too send email to your respective appellate authority. to change your port to SOTL...... A bit politeness and problem proof (like packet loss/timeout screenshots with mail) seems to have worked for me....

Even after the complaint, the issue remains. Thanks for the reply :)
I will try the IP range thing later, but for a long term solution it seems unwieldy. How do I phrase this email? I don't know most of the networking terms that you guys use(without googling, and even then my understanding is limited) How do I obtain the necessary proof?

Also, as a more permanent solution, what other ISP's are good? Hathway service is not great in my area apparently.

This just sucks... im thinking of getting an mtnl broadband connection since I already have the landline but after reading this thread im so not inclined anymore. I was anyways fearing the paperwork and the trip to the exchange and now this.

Apparently the only other option in my bldg is airtel, which i reckon doesn't have comparable plans

Oh well if its online, i might just give it a shot. I really wonder how straight forward will it be and what kinda plans will be available to me. I have a basic mtnl landline, read some where about bonding, etc

Airtel has a 125mbps plan, 35gb at 1650/- which seems quite attractive however this is not available in all buildings.

Need a new connection ASAP so guess I will go with whoever provides the fastest service. Thanks

I am having very slow speed problem from May during busnisses hour monday through friday, i get around 300 to 500 kbs, sick of complaning to them no solution yet.
