yohu, i havent read all the posts in this thread..but from what i have read..i think u have 2 problems

1) u wanna access the DSL 502T config page from the wi-fi network ie through the Linksys router

2) U get some sort of IP address conflict in the present config that u have

as far as (1) is concerned, u cannot access the webpage of the D-Link modem when it is connected to the internet or wan port of linksys..this requires some sort of juggling with IPTABLES which conventional firmware on the linksys wont allow..if u desperately want this functionality then u will have to flash ur linksys with customised firmware..search the net to see if cust. firmware has been developed for ur model.

As for point (2) i will give u a simple setup just let the Dlink remain at 192.168.1.1 (which i assume is default address and u havent changed it) put the linksys on 192.168.1.2 and use a subnet of 255.255.255.0 on both. Turn DHCP off on the dlink and put it in bridge mode and connect it to internet/wan port of the linksys router. Use the linksys to dial the PPPoE connection by feeding ur login data into it and use the port forwarding feature on teh linksys. Always remember that if u do portforwarding then u need to turn DHCP off on the linksys as well and assign static IP to all computers on the lan starting from 192.168.1.3 all with subnet of 255.255.255.0. Gateway will now be 192.168.1.2 ie the IP address of the linksys router.

^ This is teh standard setup recommended when u have an ADSL modem with routing capabilities connected to another router..u basically have to turn its routing & NAT off, and let the wireless router do the job

May be an exception.
Beetel modem always on ( not in bridgemode/ dialup ) 192.168.1.1
SMC Barricade7004VWBR wireless 192.168.2.1 . both accessible.

2) U get some sort of IP address conflict in the present config that u have
this prob was in the initial stages and coz i ws using 'obtain automatic ip addr' option in the lan settings of my pc. due to this, the ip address on the pc was conflicting with the one used by my wifi device. i solved this by giving both, the pc and wifi device static ips so that apart from solving the ip conflict, both these devices can also talk to each other in an internal lan.

not true. i had the adsl modem in ppoe mode (with dhcp on) and the wifi router in auto configuration-dhcp mode (dhcp off) and i cud access the settings page of BOTH with ease. My wifi network was working perfectly with both, the pc and wifi device have net connectivity and internal lan. But port forwarding wasnt working coz i was continuously getting nat errors in azureus. i had forwarded ports in the adsl modem, the wifi router and my zonealarm secuirty suite's firewall, for both tcp and udp ports. but still the nat error persists. then i removed the port forwards from the adsl modem, still nothing. please note that there were no nat errors when the adsl modem was connected directly to the pc (prior to ever setting up a wifi network). there were also no nat errors, when i connected the adsl modem in bridged mode and the wifi router in pppoe mode. but here, i lose access to the adsl modems setting page.

so u can see the dilemma here.
can u or anyone else still help me wherein i wud finally be able to access the settings page of the modem and router, as well as perform port forwards to avoid nat errors in azureus?

If u read my post, i have recommended the setting up of static IP's only.

No, its true... when u connect the ADSL modem in bridge mode and use wifi router to dial the connex..then u cant access the ADSL configuration..u have urself stated this "when i connected the adsl modem in bridged mode and the wifi router in pppoe mode. but here, i lose access to the adsl modems setting page."

as far as i understand ur present setup i think ur only using the wi-fi router as a switch with wi-fi functionality by using only the lan ports..do u have anything connected to the wan port of the wi-fi router?

anyways if u want proper port forwarding then turn off DHCP on the D-Link and assign proper static IP addresses using same subnet to all devices connected to DLink modem
Pls note that the setup i have recommended in my earlier post is the standard setup and which results in no probs except ofcourse the modem page being inaccessible..customised firmware allows one to access the modem from behind the router..since u dont have such firmware for ur wi-fi device..u have to use in a non-standard configuration which is why ur getting these NAT errors..most probably it is double natting..but teh DHCP server which is tuned on the dlink is another prob..u cant do proper port forwarding with dynamic addresses being allotted

to avoid double natting turn off DHCP and also NAT(if there is any such option) on the Linksys router, also remove any port forwarding entry's in it and put it on a static IP instead of gateway/PPPoE modes which would be 192.168.1.2 where the Dlinks IP address wud be 192.168.1.1 and all other devices on the network will have static IP addresses starting from 192.168.1.3 onwards..and now just do port forwarding on the dlink as per the static IP address of the particular machine running Azureus

ok cyberwiz...since i have already seen it and u also have proven that the adsl modem connected in bridge mode while the wifi router in pppoe mode doesnt allow you to access the settings page of adsl modem. well, i can live with that and in this setup, the nat error also doesnt occur and port forwarding is working perfectly. now the only prob that remains is being able to reboot the router thru telnet scripts. if the adsl modem is in pppoe mode, the telnet reboot script works like a charm. but since in the current setup the adsl modem is connected in bridged mode, i cant access login to the modem and neither can i login to the wifi router. i tried running start-run-telnet and then 'o 192.168.2.1 23' which is the local ip of the wifi router. but after a few secs, it gave the msg 'Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connection failed'. so if u or anyone else too can figure out to reboot the modem or in general the mtnl triband session, that wud be solve the prob once and for all!

Just check if telnet is enabled in the wifi router config..if u can reboot via telnet manually then u can amend the script according to the manual reboot commands used..which will allow for automated reboots of the wi-fi router

this is a nice pic and specs of my Linksys wrt54gc wireless router: Linksys WRT54GC Product Information

now, my adsl 502t modem is connected to one of the four lan ports (port 1) of the wifi router. the wifi router connects directly to the pc through the 'Internet' port of the router. thats about it....

regarding telnet, from the link above it says that telnet is one of the remote management facilities that this router provides.
but i cant find any different telnet feature in its settings page.
furthermore, i did port forward tcp and then tcp and udp, for telnet at port 23 to the local ip address (each time) of both, the adsl modem and the wifi router. each time the telnet connection failed and gives the same msg as in my earlier post.

A VERY HAPPY DIWALI TO ALL INDIA BROADBAND USERS!!!:yahoo:

thats a wrong setup u have there..the PC should be connected thru the lan ports and the ADSL modem to the wan/internet port

oops my bad....the pc is indeed connected to the lan port1 and adsl router to the 'Internet' port of the wifi router.the reason i made that mistake earlier was coz of the lights.although the internet port is behind the router, in front of it, the lights for the 4 lan ports appear and where the lan ports actually appear in the back, there were the wireless, internet power indicators in the front.this is what confused me. :ashamed:btw, im still searching for ways to reboot the wrt54gc router either using telnet scripts or some other way but no luck so far.i have port forwarded port 23 to the static ip of my pc as well as the local ip addr of the wifi router ie.192.168.2.1but still telnet refuses to connect.please note that i have no probs connecting to the wifi routers settings page from IE.hope i can solve this final prob.
