There is a free app called 'Androffice' for Android. But its no more under development now.

Thanks for sharing Nishant!!

@ Samm, about ur post in IBF Milestones.....

But, I never bothered to join Dotsis, member's over there have some attitude problem.
I won't post website's which are good for Nokia apps and stuff. No free publicity.
I have done every experiment on my phone inc ROM hacking and stuff,
now I like my phone to be simple and the way it is.

Actually when i joined there, i was mostly a leech. Downloaded apps, but was not in a position to share any stuff. Neither did i post much comments. So i dont know about that attitude problem.

That ROM Hacking - i think i too have done it. Something called "Drakkarious". It allowed u to install unsigned apps & .sis apps on N series.....as against their original restrictions to install .sisx apps only.

These days i am quiet, not using apps, coz i am not getting useful apps. Dotsis went down & with it, my experimenting has stopped. I know there are still few sites. But there are hardly as useful apps over there.

Now its the turn of Android. I am doing the ground work for it from now. So the transition is as smooth as possible.

Earlier, on my recommendations, my friends & relatives used to buy Nokia. But now they are buying Androids......

When i was on Symbian - i didnt even know of any kinds custom ROMS for Symbian :) ...Its only recently post moving to android - i am realising the power and use of customizations, custom ROMS and developer APPS Love the open source community :yahoo:

Me joining it too, in every way possible.....using open source apps on PC, Open source Office Suite included.....just wary a bit before i switch to Linux based OS......or if Chrome OS is good, then that may be tried.

I completely forgot to read your reply in the milestone thread, I need to keep a track of my posts from now on.Apps developed for Nokia are paid most of the time, no one bothers to purchase it and cracked versions comes out within weeks.I used ROM patch to install N-Gage but, now, Binpda has stopped realeasing cracked games for N-GageN-Gage was the last thing people were crazy about including me.Since I turned against piracy, Nokia makes no sense for me now.Perhaps, my new purchase is going to be an android.

Without going into the old debate of Piracy, my problem is that with Binpda stopping release of THOSE games & apps, i am left stranded. Even if an app is slightly useful, it comes for some money. And i have just heard that in Androids, many useful apps too are for free. And they come without bugs as well, may be coz they arent pirated??Lastly the feel......Nokia has remained same over the years. Same old icons, same old UI.....and few reviews of its touchphones were that its OS in this segment is even more buggy.

Well, my point is, Symbian was in process of dying and becoming unpopular from the time Nokia decided it to be Not OpenSource.People spend time developing some apps and no one buys it, and their hard work is mocked.People were not even aware that apps could be installed on their devices. This is the reason no one even bothers to develop useful apps for Nokia now, be it paid or free. While on the other hand Android is open source and developers have a good scope of earning even if they develop freeware apps.People now are aware that OS based phones is all about apps and innovation.Nokia started the trend with Ovi Store which turned out to be a complete disaster.Apple got inspired and their App store was a huge success. Now, Android is the middle option, people who can't afford iPhone orpeople who are pissed off with Nokia's weird attitude have an awesome alternative[because it came out late] the Android.

Well said. Internet savvy people only knew about the fact that 3rd party apps can be installed. At the most, people in touch with internet savvy crowd knew.......Every other day i see an Android phone thread, see its pics......i just get more & more anxious - When will i get 1??But i know that the time is coming......at its own pace.
