@varkey. I think this will be done through the LCO. I haven't asked about it.They said they still have to find an EPON OLT and make sure it is the OLT's fault as both these parties doesn't have a spare.

You mean an EPON ONT to swap and check at your place?

Regarding the BSNL instability, the fibre link was up(From LCO to my place). I don't exactly know which all things were not working. Clearly PPP wasn't working. LCO told there is nothing wrong from their end. Even their SIP phone wasn't working yesterday.

Ah, looks like some connectivity issue from LCO to BSNL or something entirely on BSNL's side.

I don't know the quality of Kerala Vision broadband in my area. Need to check with neighbours and decide.

Like you said, I was thinking about getting some outdoor modems or a tri band signal booster.

Best way to test is to actually take the connection and check ;) You'd not have any installation or additional charge right, cause it would be by the same LCO, maybe try it one month and see how it goes? Just 500 or so right.

Yes, I meant ONT to swap and check. My bad...

From what I heard from BSNL Exchange guy, entire district was down. So it might be an issue from BSNL 💁‍♂️

You're right. Previously I was thinking about all the hassle before taking the connection. I suppose there should be none 😇

Well, I tried Kerala Vision 20Mbps plans for 2-3 days. In a single sentence 'Not up to the mark' in my area.

As @varkey suggested, I along with the BSNL staff contacted with the LCO and checked link capacity. They are running separate fibre links for each area and it is not overloaded.

Swapped ONT and checked. No problems with it.

After several days of troubleshooting, found the problem. All the 100Mbps on half of the district is experiencing this problem of low speed. 50Mbps users won't notice this issue mostly because speeds are about 40Mbps at non-peak time.
The problem is with the link capacity of BSNL. Today they said it is only Gigabit and engineering team has to upgrade it to Multigigabit link as the number of customers are increasing day by day.

@abbyck Same over here in my region too.
Lot of people applying for it.
LCO has told he is laying it throughout my village.
I'm still wondering even after all this things why do bsnl babus can't make any income... 🤔🤔?

@Ameen, Kerala Circle is the only circle which is making the revenue for themselves. Even though all other circles couldn't credit employee's salary, Kerala did. Except for the last two months or so.

This is the first time that salaries for two months have remained unpaid in the Kerala circle of the public sector company, which has been facing an unprecedented crisis.

I don't know exactly, but there is a rumour that BSNL employees from Northern Regions are still reluctant to adapt to newer technologies. Which again makes BSNL lose in the competition against private players.

Why do you say it's not up to the mark? ;) Even in my area there is Kerala Vision, although I haven't tried it. Maybe will check with the LCO if they can give a trial account for few days or maybe will take the connection for a month and see.

Interesting, but you also said that even in off-peak hours you are unable to reach the 100 Mbps speed levels. I mean even if their link is saturated you should be able to reach the 100 Mbps levels at some time right? Maybe late night or early mornings etc? 🤔

Are there multiple LCOs in the region? How's the connectivity from BSNL to the LCO, does that link have sufficient bandwidth? 1Gbps+?

Also, I am not sure if this is the case in your area as well, but in my case, the contract with BSNL is by a larger operator who seems to have sublet it to smaller operators. So in BSNLs records, my LCO is some company called Periyar Entertainment Network but the smaller operator which covers my area is another firm.
And the same larger company is listed as a Kerala Vision dealer as well ;) - Find Dealers – Kerala Vision BroadBand

@varkey, Kerala Vision BB speeds were fluctuating from 2Mbps to 20Mbps all the time. They said this will improve soon, as they have only started to ship Kerala Vision very recently. Maybe I will give it a try once it becomes stable.

Regarding BSNL, I'm also thinking the same. If this is the case why I'm not getting full speeds at late night!
There are 2-3 LCO from my exchange in my knowledge. My LCO is running a link between exchange and his NOC.

Well i guess then kerala and tn should stop funding other states due, ND work as a separate entity. Its been almost one yr iam behind my lco to give the ftth connection.
They are saying they are helpless and given the work to other LCO and this people insist me to not take bsnl, and instead take dawan. Told them if im taking ftth I'm going with just bsnl. Cuz I have good experience on it.
Hope i do get it this week atleast 😑😑.
Btw i saw that 777 plan is back is it true? @varkey
