I read the tnc and it seems that charges paid to get new dth connection under black are non refundable. I'm not sure how this would benefit me as I only have bb but would love to add dth connections. Would have made sense if they added the connections without any extra charges but the plan cost of 1098 + 18% gst.

If anyone is able to get the boxes added without paying any extra charges, do let me know.

Refundable deposit was ₹1500 when they had initially introduced Airtel Black Plans.

Yea, but now they have increased the deposit to 2200.

had a word with airtel sales agent. xstream box charge is 2k rs and its non refundable and they cannot waive it off.

It is refundable, provided your connection remains active for an year.

I don't think it is. New tnc docx doesn't have anything related to it. that was old tnc.
