New Airtel Black Plans

Yes, you can only claim what is shown in the bill for that particular service + GST.

I have an Airtel mobile but its not in the Black plan...rather in an old Corp. plan I have retained to this day. So no mobile details in the Black bill.

Exactly, in the black plan, the BB amount will be reduced from 1499+GST to 900+GST something, so I will end up paying more instead of saving.

But why I am asking for confirmation is, because the Airtel lady who was selling me this black plan was so confident that I could download the separate bill for broadband and the amount in a separate bill would be 1499+GST not the 900+GST something.

Conclusion: I am fine with separate connections, and thank you all for your guidance here.

Airtel can still sell as they have the target customers, they just need to reach them in a right way. Black is a good product, I was surprised most were under the impression DTH black has built in 350 channels and they don’t have option to choose channels at there end. I still reckon Airtel black for customers looking for DTH, I don’t need DTH hence it’s time for me to exit from Black. Also if a family has mobile requirement and they are already using postpaid services Black is a good option. Eg if @pankaj had no reimbursement benefit from his office, Black 2299/- plan is a good option for him with some great savings.

I have 999 postpaid plan for 4 SIM and 499 VDSL broadband. Do not use DTH as firestick with OTT subscriptions is enough. So total cost is 1498 for 4 SIM and BB. And I get separate bills for both services.
At many places even in metros, Airtel does not have fiber and only provides copper based connection limited at 40 mbps. So no point paying anything more than 499 for that. For postpaid mobile, 999 plan for 4 and 599 for 2 as standalone plans are better options.
In last 18 months, I had to visit their outlet 3 times, and every time, instead of trying to solve my issue, the person there was more interested in peddling black.

@armaan_99 Airtel does allow you to choose channels but not in that Airtel DTH 'pack', that one is locked. However you can add or remove other a la carte channels. I have done that for some that aren't included in the fixed pack.

@Chip that is not the case now. You can change the base pack too.
A few days back when I had contacted the Black team, they were ready to move me to the minimal 155rs. base pack which just has Govt. suggested NFC channels. Then we can add our ala-carte channels over it as per our need.

Also, there is a new 799rs. plan with 2 postpaid sim connections plus one DTH where you can add worth 350rs. channels.

155 base with A-la-carte sounds good. 350 worth channels was useless which included many channels which nobody watches
For channels watched, we need to spend more further.

@imdarkray will the 155 base pack still include the Republic and similar pvt channels backed by political parties?

Still so much confusion in terms of DTH black plans, not necessarily you need 155 base pack + Ala Carte, you can activate any Airtel packs, packs like only Tamil, only Kannada, only English, only Hindi, I am on Hindi Mega HD which has 169 channels which includes 43 HD channels which is 563 per month in which 350 is adjusted from my Black bill and balance will be charged to your bill, this was revised only last month, till last month it was 489 per month & I was paying 139 extra.
