No IPv6

I get around 430 Mbps download speed while downloading games from steam. So dual stack IP "glitch" is not a gimmick which only works on speedtest servers.
Note: This speed is over WiFi and not ethernet

It works on anything that simultaneously downloads over both IPv4 and IPv6. Most commonly torrents

@rajat_ You can check in "Resource Monitor" under Windows for more insight or any third party application like glasswire.

It's automatically resolved today without me touching anything. Looks like some backend IP allocation issue at airtel

Looks like the dual stack ipv4/ipv6 glitch has been fixed, i no longer get double speed on torrents and steam and only get double speed in speed test results.

Yeah it's a hit or miss nowadays, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It only works on OOKLA speedtest results just to mislead customers so that they can flex those results .
I mostly get speeds as per plan while downloading/updating games, 240-250 Mbps and I am happy with that. There are no speed drops as such. Steam downloads sometimes touch 400 Mbps+ but it's not constant.

It was never meant to be called a glitch. AirTel does not do balanced IPv4/IPv6 speeds. Whatever your plan is, is applied to both IPv4 and IPv6 separately.
Now you may ask why do I get 2x speeds on Ookla, thats because Ookla multi-server test utilizes both IPv6 and IPv4 separately and you see combined result. If individual server is selected, you will only utilize either IPv4 or IPv6 speeds. 2x speeds only when multiple servers are selected.

I don't think it has anything to do with Ookla because I don't see double the speeds with any other ISP. Tata, Jio and every other ISP show speeds as per plan, doesn't matter if IPv6 is enabled or disabled. If you disable IPv6 on Airtel, speeds are as per plan.
There have been several discussions about this on the forum and the reason is that Airtel treats IPv4 and IPv6 as separate entities. I have noticed this speed bump also works on fast.com and steam servers as well sometimes.
It is a glitch indeed.
