Frankly speaking I dont see anything wrong with them pricing it in the 35-40k range... Although I would really love dor them to price it below the 30k mark so as to give ppl enough reason to ditch Android powered top models... What we have to remember Samsung did launch the S3 @40k(street price 38k) & it still sold like hot cakes... Although Samsung does have bigger fanbois in the Smartphone space than Nokia so I guess it will be hard for Nokia to justify a non Android device for anything more than 30k even if it offer wonderful features...

well samsung has the brand name and fan base to be able to sell devices for close to Rs. 40K. Nokia does not. even with 920... they still do not have that killer feature that would steal away people from both android and iPhone. forget iphone they are going to struggle against android in the indian market. at least in the near future. they created the problem for themselves by overcharging for their shitty 'smartphones' before android became big in india. at 40K they are coming way too close to the iphone. and it is very clear that a lot of android users would prefer to get the iphone over windows phone if they are going to pay that much. iphone has an amazing branding in india despite being such a small player in the market. a lot of people would ask me if i am carrying an iphone when they see a full touch display phone. they do not know anything about androids or wps. if it is a full touchscreen device with icons on it, for them it is the iphone. :|i played with both 800 and 610 and 808 today. loved the performance on general tasks on 610. though i hear it chokes when you install simple apps like whatsapp. i would still recommend it over 12K android devices. but when you are talking about pricing segment above Rs. 30K... i cannot get myself to recommend a wp device over an android device. 20-25 and even 30k segment is cool for high end wp8 device considering the top android phones are now going for around Rs. 35k. :|

This is the first time I am willing to break my own barriers of 20K for a smartphone, but if Nokia thinks they are going to charge 30+ K for this, I would have to look at other routes, which would be unfortunate.

lumia 800 was a fine device (played with it yesterday) but it felt puny compared to my nexus. it felt like a kid compared to samuel's note. :D Nokia guy was not very marketey in nature when he noticed us carrying those two devices. :D before he saw us compare it with our phones, he was yapping the usual. it has this processor. this camera and bla bla bla.

I have used the Lumia 800, it's a pretty capable device, the only reason I didn't buy it (or rather sold it) was I prefer a larger display. Was planning to get the 900 all this while until these got announced. Now I hope to be impressed by the 920, though it does look very wide, and that might be another problem for me.
