I'm planning to get an X8. But not in India due to Indian phones firmware usually being behind the rest of the world (I re-flashed my 5800 with Finnish firmware).
Seeing the review on TechRepublic and whatnot made it a want for me.
Samsung ads here in are demonstrating SWYPE as being an exciting feature - I have SWYPE. I also have Fring, from which I can make calls to India for 0.011 EUR per minute (cheaper than SkypeOut). I have Nimbuzz. I have a front facing camera, so I can use either Fring or Nimbuzz for video calling. I have Opera. I have
Google Maps. I also have Ovi Maps. I have MGMaps for tracing where I've been (or, in the event that my phone gets stolen, where it is). I also have a custom-written alarm in Python (in case it gets pick-pocketed, a loud siren will go off if it is not unlocked within 2 seconds). My phone backs itself up to Ovi both on the net and on my desktop. My phone can also switch itself to silent mode based on my location (for example, if I'm at the office). I have a good
music player. I have PuTTy. I have push-email. I have Snaptu for Twitter and Facebook. I can tether it as a modem, and/or I can use Ovi Suite to send SMS messages (for example).
Despite the bitching about Symbian as a whole, I must say, it's fairly versatile, and although I'm pretty open to change, no one has ever been able to sell me on any killer feature available on Android or
iPhone that would justify switching from Symbian to either of these platforms.
And especially not Blackberry: I really should have purchased the Mrs an e71 but she wanted a bloody Blackberry which had the same features for twice the price and doesn't do it as well (she has to be on a Blackberry plan to use it). She could have Push Email from Ovi and Fring for chatting on MSN, Yahoo and Gtalk. Damn status symbols
thats a nice rap up of symbian device btw I think u missed out that ur phone can also be turned into a
webcam atleast my N73 can. software is called Mywebcam.......
