According to a press release (after the break) and a pamphlet reportedly given to attendees, the Adam II will sell for 12,000 Indian Rupees (about $217) later this year, packing in a 1.5 Ghz Dual-Core ARM Cortex CPU, twin 2MP cameras, 1GB RAM and up to 10 hours of battery life. HDMI, headphone and a micro USB ports crowd the device's adjacent edges, which wrap around a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display -- a concession that was apparently made to increase longevity.

I sent an email to Notion Ink asking about Android updates for Adam 2 and Ubuntu Touch support. I got a reply within 2 hours. This is what they said.
Dear Sai,
Thanks for writing.
We can confirm that Adam II will be updated to latest Android OS (KitKat) versions and currently working on next update. Public release date has not been shared yet.We have tested Ubuntu on Adam II, but not Ubuntu Touch yet, but with some work that shouldn't be any issue. We were installing it as internal experiments as we didn't get any requests from customers on it. If you have Adam II we can probably share installing details and how can you get more from Adam II!
Best Wishes

I would have bought Adam 2 if the price was little bit lower and display resolution was slightly better. Ordered Nexus 7 few hours back.
All the best for them.

I personally did not like N7 2012. Should never have bought it. Anyways... my requirements are quite different from general public. Tablets are insanely popular in the market!

Well, I borrowed couple of tablets from friends & relatives. Tablets with 7" display suited me. So ordered it. Initially I thought of getting a proper 10" one. But later found it to be too large for my kind of usage. I'll be mostly installing Ubuntu Touch soon in N7. Let me see how things go.
