I thought that now with all players offering HD, SD boxes would be history soon. But there are quite a few takers......I am wrong at gauging the demands!! (Especially, sitting at home!!)

^^^ actually it is the market which is not right at present. HD STB cost like 50-60 $ whereas SD ones cost 30-35 $ this are approx. guesses as no one discloses the real price.In India where ARPU are just as low as they can be and customers don't pay a shit more this is bound to happen. May be in the next year or so the prices will be equalized or even SD can cost MORE as their production will start to decelerate.

Yeah, lets see.....i want to see a revolution atleast in Broadcasting industry with HD content becoming easily accessible on all DTH players.TS has set a new standard now by giving 4 Star HD Channels......may be Dish will now pressurise Zee to start Zee TV, Zee Cinema, Zee Studio.......in True HD. Just a matter of time now before all channels might start thinking of True HD feeds realistically.

are u going to change ur satellite? I saw in other forums that ur present satellite is on its end of life.?
and after that will we see increase in quality/more HD channels?

1stly, this looks like a fakie. Admin has asked that to the person concerned.

Regarding ur query.....they are on ST1 right now. And thats since around 1998 with a life of 15 years. ST2 will be launched in Mid-May, which WILL REPLACE ST1. So surely their satellite is gonna change, coz ST1 wont be transmitting signals from some junkyard on earth.

And logically, since ST2 will replace ST1, it appears that D2h will move to ST2.....no official news though.

And yeah, that will improve the quality of their service - may be more channels. Coz frankly speaking, i havent come across sound/video issues. It was there in the beginning, but dont understand the correlation between these 2 event: Firmware was upgraded & with that, video quality issues have been solved.
