Yup. Seems to be an intentional downgrade. Still surprising because both features were available on the 5mp camera on Galaxy Nexus. Moto G has a quad core processor in comparison.

Right. I am not sure if it would work on custom KitKat ROMs. You should consider moving as I doubt Note 2 is getting KitKat officially.

Am on 4.4 custom ROM and I got the camera update.

I'm running my Note 2 on a custom 4.4 rom. And using this app. Tis fine, nothing great.

There have been a few leaks which suggest that Samsung is releasing Kitkat officially to Note 2 so I am waiting for that. Plus with this 'knox' security that Sammy has introduced it has become problematic to root the phone while it is in warranty. Moreover, not in a position to buy a new phone right now. No need either. So.... fingers crossed!
