Please provide tips to improve battery life on Samsung Galaxy 551

anything more than 24 hours is pretty good wrt android.

not much difference in battery when auto rotation was on/off but there was some improvement when animation was turned off.

of course. animation is a hardware intensive task. screen orientation would only used if you rotate your device frequently.

ok, now, i am confused. the Galaxy 551 box says that 'swype' is there, but i can't find it nor can install the beta version.

have you checked your keyboard options? if it is not listed there, it is not there i guess. why cannot you get the beta version? i was able to get it for my phone easily.

its not there.i downloaded the beta version, screen size error.

so the device is not listed in swype backend? it worked fine on nexus one. have not tried it yet on nexus s.

Swype | Text Input for Screens

I receive an error about Swype not being available for my phone's "Screen Size"
Most likely you're using an older version of the Swype Installer and need to upgrade. Easy! Follow the instructions here and uninstall the old Swype Installer then install Swype again. If you're using the latest installer, please visit our forums for support.

if the beta is not designed for your screensize, i guess you are out of luck for now. i would suggest contacting them through help or twitter or whatever and tell them that you have this model with this screensize and what you are supposed to do to get swype working on it!
