Porting from Vodafone GSM to Reliance GSM

Haha! I get the sarcasm. I hope things have changed for better over the 2 years now. :)
I ported out of Reliance 2 months ago. Just be prepared to get surprised by activation of random offers like "khushiyon ki nagariya" and etc without your consent.

Surprisingly none of my friends/relatives using Reliance have such issues. Could be just you. Just hoping that I don't have a miserable experience like you.

OK. Could be the EDGE connectivity.
Yes, people have told me that EDGE is way too slow but 3G is good enough. 3G doesn't give claimed speeds of 7mbps, but gives of around 3mbps. That's good enough for me.

Received a message from Reliance stating that the porting stuff is completed and Vodafone's network will be off for me from 11:30pm to 01:30am tonight. Reliance services will begin at 01:30am.
Got a message from Vodafone stating the same.

Alright. So my Vodafone SIM all of a sudden lost network. This was an indication to insert the Reliance SIM.
Now I'm getting a network connection but can't make/receive calls. When someone calls, he hears that the connection is temporarily out of service.
Earlier (at around 9pm) I had received this message: "Dear Customer, your new sim is read for activation. Please insert the new SIM by 0:30-1:30. Your services will be resumed on successful televerification."
What I understand is that until I verify the connection, it won't get activated. Now how do I televerify it? Will they call me or do I need to call them?

Okay got it. Need to call them and get it verified. Called them, but they did not verify as they wanna talk to the card owner only. My Vodafone connection was on my mom's name as I was below 18 then and so even after porting it's on her name. I asked the CC guy to verify it as I'm her son and I'll be the one using the card, but he did by agree. :pHoping I can wake up early in the morning before mom leaves for office. So basically the porting is done. It was smooth and hassle free for me. Had heard a lot of bad stuff about how bad the porting system is. Fortunately my experience was good. :D

Haha all the best with Rcom. Many warned here like others did to you when i ported from airtel to vodafone. Having mind blasting experience. Network doesnt search me, instead i have to look for the network where it is hiding. Complaint to pgportal didnt give me any resolution. there is a security amount issue still pending for past 3 months. Whenever it is cleared i will port out to idea

Haha! Indeed many people did warn me before porting. In fact some also warned about how troublesome the entire process is. Fortunately the porting was smooth and I now have that Reliance's network doesn't disappoint either. At college now, no network issues at home, on the way or at college. Fingers crossed, going good till now.
