It is Airtel's responsibility to provide you with a connection as per your plan. Why should you worry about which modem they opt to use as long as they provide you with uninterrupted service and the plan speed?

Because I didn't get a modem yet. Lemme wait till wednesday to see which modem they replace me with. Previously they replaced the beetle 220 with an old one which didn't work at all. Why cant they give a new one instead this time ???

I'm really really pissed off with this horrible Airtel service. They suck as internet providers. I've been facing a problem for the last 2 months & there's no cure for it ? Today a guy came & tried two modems on my PC & both of them were faulty ones. I told him to bring a new modem & try it out again. They say they don't have modems anymore & the guy will mail me a Beetle 220bxi firmware upgrade file which I have to update the modem at 192.168.1.1 & they say it'll solve the problem. Well......will it ? That's my question.....

probably not! But you have to try it anyhow.

WOW! They tried to upgrade the firmware but it said.....fatal error & image uploading failed. Now I cant upgrade my firmware at all neither Airtel is giving new modems. What the hell do I do with this internet connection of mine ??????

First of all make sure you are not paying them for the entire period that your broadband connection has been down. It is time to get hold of the nodal officer and raise hell.

They changed my modem. They gave me the Beetle 110TC1 modem. Lets see if this works. They say that if the PC light on my modem blinks a lot then its a computer problem. My broadband is working ok now. But what if the problem occurs again ? Is it because of my LAN card or any other problem in my PC ? There's no virus because I have a registered antivirus installed. The problem is still there. What do I do now ? Anything wrong with my PC ?

I can see a couple of options for you to eliminate the suspects.1. Can you borrow a modem from a friend and try? Or try your modem at the friend's place? Ideally he should be a Airtel subscriber too.2. You can borrow a LAN card and test if it is feasible.3. You can borrow a laptop and try out the net connection.Go for the solution that is most easy in your case.

I'll change my ram, processor & motherboard soon. As my motherboard has some problem in its PCI express slot & the south bridge. Will that help ? New motherboard means new LAN card....no ?

yes you are right.... but whatever that airtel tech told you is horse crap! the PC light is supposed to blink whenever your computer tries to access the services through the modem. anyway your new motherboard will settle the debate on the computer issue for good
