Any reason for choosing Amazon ethernet adaptor over TP-Link or other brands?

No reason. It just didn't pop in my mind to get the TP-Link one. Both use the same kmod-usb-net-asix-ax88179 driver so not much of a difference.

You can buy SBCs with Amlogic or Rockchip SoC, newer ones can even do av1.

Rockchip RK3588S (NanoPi R6S, Some offerings from Radxa), Amlogic S905X4 (Many whitelabel ~trash). Some variants of these from Khadas but for some reason they are very expensive or maybe I just need to make more money.

Also these white label android boxes lie a lot. Amlogic S905 series is all over the place so confirm exact features before deciding.

A little correction from my previous post. I mixed up the info. The AmazonBasics USB to Ethernet uses kmod-usb-net-asix-ax88179 and the TP-Link UE300 uses kmod-usb-net-rtl8152.

btw you can do it without a separate ethernet adapter as well. It's called router on a stick. I'm planning to do it this way if I can find a Pi 4.

I know. It's not something I want to do. And stop searching, sign up for waitlist or stock notification at robu or robocraze.
Or get this kit, Raspberry Pi4 Model B 2GB kit for beginners. It's been available for sometime because nobody wants to buy the kit I guess.
