well the pixelation problem is still there u will notice it more if have a HD lcd,i do agree its better now but not as good as when i saw four months ago when there was only 160 ch , i believe now we are getting 18X channels but once they get 191 ch or more u will see more pixelation.
I am concerned about quality degradation, once they increase the number of channels. Because in that case it would be not much different from others, and my wait was all in vain! For me high quality picture/sound is their USP, everything else comes later!!

Anything specific about 191 channel mark? Does anybody know how much audio/video bandwidths they are allocating per channel (past/present/future:))?

Don't forgot one thing. They have 8 Transponder and right now they are using 7 Transponder only,Also they have 4 new transponder by the end of the year. So space will not be a big issue.

Yes, I am aware of this transponder thing (fact or rumor whatever it may be!)We have to view it in relative terms, availability of extra bandwidth versus requirement for their plans. They will definitely add more SD channels (I remember to have seen a target figure of 300-350 somewhere:)) and may be HD also. If they really care about providing top notch quality, then I think they should have a policy of certain minimum bandwidth per channel (depending upon whether it's SD or HD).

They have all transponders and you can check information on Indiantelevision.com and on MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd..

Also they can easily beam 350 Channels on 12 Transponder.

People are talking about HD Channels but so far only two channels applied for licence which are Net Geo and Discovery. We will same content on this channels which we are seaing.

HD Channels are more costlier then normal channels. SO better to enjoy it with SD.

Now you guys are talking toooooo technically :)Anyway, whatever transponders they use and no matters how many - bottom line is that we must have the best quality for all the channels we subscribe to.

Well, some rough calculation- 160 channels on 7 TPs = excellent quality. So, with 12 TPs, it should scale to 275. Sounds pretty good! Assuming that 1 TP is equivalent to a certain bandwidth (Is this true first of all??). But if they really want to go beyond 300, then quality should degrade!

I don't know how many are TV channels versus radio (audio needs a fraction of bandwidth as compared to video), and how will they accommodate HD channels? All this is not clear.

Now you guys are talking toooooo technically :)

Yeah, I am prone to this... but not many companions on these forums!:)

Since there seems to be a few people tending to talk on technical terms, I just wanted to confirm from them on -1. Whether they are using the Component or the Composite cable ?2. Do they know of any picture quality difference between the two different set-top boxes (model 1 and model 2 as mentioned in the User manual available from Bigtv's website)?
