Did this Reliance sent their BIG TV employees on a long holiday? No updates or upgrades since last few weeks!!!!!!!!!We want new channels now. Fed up of seeing the same everyday!!! There are plenty of channels missing and of course that BIG logo is disturbing a lot.Somebody, call Anil Ambani to call their employees back on the job, fast.

Or may be he is busy findind a solution of channel transition time or may be he is thinking about his "BIG" brand name encashment - how to sue "BIG Bazaar"????

videocon acquired thomson television business. perhaps the only indian company to do so.

they might look small because we go for LG or samsung or Philips or Sony. but i believe they are still very profitable.

511389 - Videocon Industries Ltd. - Google Finance

looks to me pretty relevant :)

I strongly agree to the face that Videocon had huge assets & can make a difference !

Titbit:
Wordperfect 5 was a big success when it was launched in the mid 90s and managed to get close to 90% market share. The organisation took all employees on a 3 day holiday in Hawaii in chartered jets. Microsoft fought and got the market back. Wordperfect 6's share dropped to less than 30%. Videocon is like sun group; it can divert funds from its profitable activities.

I dont see any bright future of Videocon - its just an "outdated indian firm" these days. They even cant compete their competitors in selling TVs (Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi, LG, Samsung, Onida, Sharp, BPL, Philips, VU, Thomson and lot many other small companies too). I dont think much people (those who are buying new TV sets these days) are keen to buy Videocon TVs!!!

If they are not wanting to buy their TVs then why would they buy their DTH alongwith it!!! LOL

And think of an inflation again!!! (Big super malls, hypermarkets like - Big Bazaar, Reliance Mart have changed their strategies and reducing costs by decreasing space of their premises due to inflation and less interest of consumer buying) - so lets see how these DTH companies survive in coming months!!! Surely they are gonna have a BIG tough time to face.

Anyway, lets see what future has written for them!!

Videocon brands are akai, sansui, hyundai, kenstar, videocon etc.

Thanks Venki for posting BIG TV pix - you have done an excellent job dude.... we were dying to see the pix rather than BIG TV itself :) LOL  You're very late to catch the train but anyway, thanks for the efforts. Well, but 1 thing i got to know - they people are still using their older dish (look at the older BIG logo on dish) - so, cheer up, you're one of the person being used to get rid of their older hardwares :) 2 Questions/Tasks for you:[1] Could you please also post your STB and Remote pics?[2] Which mobile are you using? Thanks in advance!
